Fuganol Ointment is an antifungal medicine which is used topically and shows high effectiveness against Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and epidermophyton floccosum. This ointment contains sertaconazole as active compound having chemical formula C20H15Cl3N2Os with molar mass of 437.77 g/mol. With excellent 99% of protein binding ability, it has numerous modes of action including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, fungistatic, and antipruritic. Fuganol Ointment gets rapidly absorbed through skin and works by blocking synthesis of ergosterol by binding to 14alpha demethylase enzyme. This activity of ointment results in disruption of fungal cell wall and inhibition of their multiplication as well.
